Mascot Tryouts

Coaches: Heather Mitchell & Crystal Center

Students signing up for mascot tryouts will be screened based upon:

1. Grades – A student must have an overall 70

average without any F’s for the first semester.

2. Age – A student may not turn 19 before August

1, 2008.

3. Discipline referrals – Discipline referrals will be

checked and dealt with on an individual basis.

4. Participants must take and pass a physical

examination as prescribed by the Alabama High

School Athletic Association. The cost of this is

the parent’s responsibility. Forms may be

obtained from Mrs. Mitchell or P.E. teacher.

Any student not cleared to tryout for mascot will be notified by the coach.

Tryouts:

1. Wednesday, March 19 – All candidates should

report to Dauphin Junior High School at 5:45

pm. Judging session for candidates are closed.

Judges will be people familiar with mascot

performance.

2. Each candidate should have a skit that lasts

no more than 2 minutes. The skit can include

props as well as music. The skit

will be judged on theme, originality, use of

props, character/personality, appropriateness,

school spirit and overall crowd appeal.

3. The top candidates will be posted after tryouts as

the 2008-2009 Mr. and Miss Wildcat for

Enterprise High School.

4. Attire for tryouts – Shorts and shirt will be worn

underneath the actual mascot uniform. If you

plan to "dress up" as Mr. or Miss

Wildcat please bring the clothing needed. Miss

Wildcat’s usual attire is a cheerleading uniform

and Mr. Wildcat’s usual attire is a football jersey.

For those who make it:

1. Mandatory mascot/parent meeting on Tuesday,

March 25, 2008 at 5:30. $200 rental fee is due

at this meeting. The location of

this meeting will be announced during tryout

week.

2. Mandatory mascot fitting/meeting on Thursday,

March 27, 2008

from 5:30-7:00. The location of this meeting

will be announced at

a later date.

Approximate costs:

Uniform Rental - $200

Accessories - $600+
