Enterprise High School Cheerleader Tryouts Coaches: Heather Mitchell & Crystal Center Students signing up for cheerleading tryouts will be screened based upon: 1. Grades A student must have an overall 70 average without any Fs for the first semester. 2. Age A student may not turn 19 before August 1, 2008. 3. Discipline referrals Discipline referrals will be checked and dealt with on an individual basis. 4. Participants must take and pass a physical examination as prescribed by the Alabama High School Athletic Association. The cost of this is the parents responsibility. Forms may be obtained from Mrs. Mitchell or P.E. teacher. Any student not cleared to tryout for cheerleading will be notified by the coach. Practice: March 16 March 19, 2008 1. Sunday, March 16 1:00 4:00 pm at Dauphin Junior High School Monday, March 17 & Tuesday, March 18 6:00 8:00 pm at Dauphin Junior High School.
You must be picked up promptly Students not picked up on time will not be allowed to tryout.
2. Dress Navy blue shorts, white shirt, tennis shoes, socks. Hair must be pulled back in a tight ponytail. NO JEWELRY OR GUM IS ALLOWED! 3. Practice sessions are closed to everyone. 4. Candidates are expected to participate in all sessions. Persons missing any practice will be dropped unless the reason for missing is approved by the coach prior to the absence. Persons missing 2 or more days of practice will be dropped regardless of the circumstances. Also, any person missing tryouts will be dropped NO EXCUSES!!
Skills to be taught: Cheer, Chant, Dance Skills to be judged: (Girls) Cheer, Chant, Dance, Jumps, Standing Backhandspring, Entrance (Boys) Cheer, Chant, Dance, Jumps, Stunts, Entrance
Tryouts: 1. Wednesday, March 19 All candidates should report to Dauphin Junior High School at 5:45 pm. Judging session for candidates on the skills that they have been taught are closed. Judges will be people familiar with cheerleading. 2. The top candidates will be posted after tryouts as the 2008-2009 Varsity and Junior Varsity cheerleaders for Enterprise High School. 3. For the Varsity squad no less than 8 females will be chosen. For the Junior Varsity squad no less than 6 females will be chosen. 4. Attire for tryouts navy blue shorts, white shirt (no racerback style), cheerleading shoes, and hair in a ponytail.
For those who make it: 1. Mandatory cheerleader/parent meeting on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 5:30. $200 rental fee is due at this meeting. The location of this meeting will be announced during tryout week. 2. Mandatory cheerleader fitting/meeting on Thursday, March 27, 2008 from 5:30-7:00. The location of this meeting will be announced at a later date.
Approximate costs:
Uniform Rental - $200 Camp - $300 Accessories - $600+ Shoes - $150 (2 pair sideline & competition)
