Automotive Service Technology 

WHAT DO STUDENTS DO IN AUTO CLASS?  Automotive Service Technology courses at EHS provide students with classroom and laboratory experiences utilizing current and emerging technologies in automotive service theory and repair. The program includes training in the use of computer and other electronic diagnostic and testing equipment, technical manuals, and problem-solving methods. Instruction and practice are provided regarding the diagnosis of malfunctions, disassembly of system components, parts inspection and repair, engine overhaul, electronic and fuel systems suspension systems, and brakes.  Auto Service Technology is a program designed for students who are interested in pursuing careers in automotive maintenance and repair. Courses are designed to give a basic knowledge and understanding of the entire automobile. 10th-12th grade Auto students have the option to simultaneously earn LBW Community College Automotive credits through these courses.

CTSO (Career Tech Student Organization) - SkillsUSA 

• Students taking Automotive courses are encouraged to join our CTSO, SkillsUSA.  Students in SkillsUSA participate in community projects and have the opportunity to travel to state conventions to collaborate with, and compete against, other SkillsUSA students in Alabama.

• 10th-12th grade Auto students have the opportunity to earn simultaneous Automotive Dual Enrollment credits through LBW Community College.   
  • Each EHS course articulates to a 3 hour AUM community college credit
  • Currently, as of 08/08/2022, Automotive dual enrollment course tuition is paid by Alabama's Workforce Development Grant
