Business
Business courses at ECTC prepare students for careers in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating business functions essential to efficient and productive business operations. Skills learned in our Business courses apply to careers in every sector; organization, time management, customer service, and communication are important in any job field. Students may choose a Business course pathway of Finance or Marketing.
Finance - The Finance pathway prepares students for careers in financial and investment planning, banking, and business financial management. Career opportunities are available in every sector of the economy and require individuals working in finance to have strong computation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Marketing - The Marketing pathway is about planning, managing and performing marketing activities to reach organizational objectives. Marketing-related jobs are vital for companies, nonprofit groups, and organizations. Job duties in this career cluster can include brand promotion, sales, merchandising, marketing communications, and market research. As companies find it increasingly important to focus on community outreach and customer relations, the need for marketing professionals will increase.
Business Information Technology (BIT)- The Business Information Technology pathway prepares high school students who are interested in pursuing careers in business information technology. Courses provide an overview of career opportunities which are available in every sector of the economy and require specific skills in basic computer programming, print and digital media, information management, and other effective uses of technology. Rigorous instruction is provided to equip learners with knowledge and skills for college and career readiness. Some courses in the Information Technology Program also apply to this pathway.
