Education and Training
The Education and Training Program is a hands-on, interactive experience providing students with real-world knowledge and skills needed for teaching and professional training consultant careers. Courses provide an overview of teaching and learning theories; curriculum development; teaching techniques; instructional resources and the use of technology; types of assessments; classroom management strategies; and ethics and professionalism. These courses are ideal for students interested in a career as a teacher, librarian, media specialist, coach, athletic director, counselor, recreation director, or social worker.

CTSO (Career Tech Student Organization) - FTA (Future Teachers of Alabama):
Students taking Education and Training courses are encouraged to join our CTSO, Future Teachers of Alabama (FTA). Students in FTA participate in campus and community service projects t-shirt, scrapbook and video lesson plan competitions at the local and state level. Students also travel to state conventions to collaborate with, and compete against, other FTA students in Alabama.

Notes:
- The Foundations in Education course is housed entirely at Enterprise High School
- Advancing to the Practices in Education course is by Application Only
- The Practices in Education, Methods in Education and Internship courses allow students to visit elementary and middle school classrooms 3-4 days per week to observe and assist veteran teachers.
