Welding
Welding courses at EHS provide students the opportunity to acquire skills, knowledge, and experiences required to pass a standard welding qualifications test and pursue a career in an expanding and rewarding technical field. Classroom instruction and laboratory experiences allow students to gain scientific knowledge regarding welding ferrous and nonferrous metals using the processes of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux-core Arc Welding (FCAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). 10th-12th grade Welding students have the opportunity to simultaneously earn LBW Welding dual enrollment credit through these courses.

CTSO (Career Tech Student Organization) - SkillsUSA
* Students taking Welding courses are encouraged to join our CTSO, SkillsUSA. Students in SkillsUSA participate in community projects and have the opportunity to travel to state conventions to collaborate with, and compete against, other SkillsUSA students in Alabama.

Notes:
* Specialized Welding classes (offered to students who have successfully completed prior courses) teach oxy-fuel cutting, plasma arc cutting, air carbon arc cutting, blueprint reading, weld symbols, and welding inspection and testing.
* 10th-12th grade Welding students have the opportunity to earn simultaneous Welding Dual Enrollment credits through LBW Community College.

Currently, as of 08/08/2022, Welding dual enrollment course tuition is paid by Alabama's Workforce Development Grant.
