ACT
ACT What is the ACT? Why is it SO important? What can I do to be ready?
The ACT is a standardized test that measures skills in subtest areas: English, Math, and Reading. Science and Writing subtests are optional. Students take the ACT so they can submit their scores to colleges as part of the college application process. The ACT measures a high school student's readiness for college and provides colleges with a common data point that can be used to compare all applicants.
Alabama requires that all 11th grade students take the ACT on a school day in the spring of junior year. Additionally, EHS administers the ACT to 10th grade students in the spring of their sophomore year. To take the test any other time, visit www.act.org to register. Come by the CCC if you have registration questions.
Prior to the school administration of the ACT, all 10th and 11th grade students are encouraged to create an ACT account. Visit www.act.org to create an account. Helpful tools: MYACT User Guide for Students and the MYACT Account Setup-State and District Video.
