PSAT

What is the PSAT and why is it important?

The PSAT won’t count towards your college admissions applications, but it is the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship. Some of the highest scoring students may win scholarship money. Use the PSAT as practice for the SAT and ACT and consider it an important step in your college admissions journey.

When is the PSAT?

The PSAT is typically offered to EHS 10th and 11th graders during October.  Listen/watch for announcements about signing up.  The PSAT is an optional assessment, offered to 10th and 11th graders for a fee.  The major benefit of taking this exam as an 11th grader is that scores can lead to qualification in the National Merit Scholarship Program. For 10th graders, consider the PSAT a great practice for tests you will take in 11th grade (PSAT, SAT, and/or ACT).
